British celebrity chef Theo Randall is a culinary mastermind known for his Italian cuisine. Exposed to the beauty and riches of Italian cuisine as a child, Theo cultivated a passion for crafting authentic and delicious Italian dishes. Carefully blending the best local ingredients with handpicked Italian imports, Theo creates rustic fare that garners outstanding reviews.
Through a four-year apprenticeship with Max Magarian of Chez Max, Chef Randall was given the opportunity to work in the bustling kitchen of The River Café, where he put his relationship with small artisan producers to good use. After working alongside the legendary Alice Waters for a year, Chef Randall returned to The River Café as Head Chef and as a business partner. He worked at The River Cafe for a total of 17 years, and under his direction, The River Cafe earned its first Michelin star.
In November 2006, Theo embarked on a new journey with the grand opening of his first restaurant, Theo Randall at the InterContinental in Park Lane, London. Over the years, Chef Randall has led the restaurant to acclaim with numerous awards, such as its high ranking in the Italian category of the Sunday Times Food List, its inclusion as one of the “100 Top UK Restaurants” at the National Restaurant Awards in 2016 and its distinction as the “Best Italian Restaurant of the Year” at the London Restaurant Awards. With Theo’s Simple Italian in London and Theo Mio in Bangkok, two extremely successful establishments under his belt, Chef Randall has proven that he has perfected the art of serving simple yet authentic Italian dishes that celebrates the best of casual Italian dining.
An avenue through which he shares his favourite recipes with others, Theo is the author of two successful cookbooks, PASTA (2006) and My Simple Italian (2015).
